A book of HEADS from the curious mind of...

The beautiful MOLESKIN arrived in May, 2011, just in time for a period of reflection and gathering of thoughts and IDEAS that I wanted to progress. Being free to dismantle and to play, much like a child, I took to the notebook on a daily basis, cutting, pasting, scribbling and gluing paper and fabric that represented tiny snippets of the characters that move around me each day and night. Inside my MIND, outside of my grasp, teasing, taunting, encouraging, calling for attention. Some I quite like, others, I'd rather not meet in a DARK alley, but all are equal when it comes to the WRITTEN word. Well, my written WORD, that is, from my CURIOUS mind...

And so they took up residence on the smooth, buttery cream PAGES of the moleskin, bulking it up with their personalities, their wants, their needs. Sure what was I, only a vessel, a CONDUIT to their manifestation on the page? I've always been a notebook FREAK, or nerd, or enthusiast. I have loads of them, in different spaces in my home, tactile and smelly and gorgeous! Some are scribbled on relentlessly, others are kept for that special STORY, the one that hasn't quite happened yet, but 'it be brewing, it be percolating ' as I WRITE. Much like these characters, this collection of 'HEADS' inside a moleskin!

And like a good, good friend, WHOM I don't see very often, once a year, in fact, the Moleskin can re-acquaint itself with me at first sight, the 'HEADS' achingly ready to burst out of those recreated buttery pages, eager to know their FATE; WHERE they are going, WHAT stories I am SPINNING for them and HOW...and probably more importantly, what new 'HEADS' have been invading my IMAGINATION space to rival them, getting to the top of the queue to push THEM back UNDERCOVER!

Hardly likely!!
