This notebook is the record of a few months of hill walks in Ireland, undertaken with friends, and members of the “hard” hill walkers, they are a tough bunch! Sketches from the hills of Dublin, Wicklow, the Mournes, and the Cooleys. The scenery made the hard slog worthwhile, but it was often the incidental things that caught my eye, the traces of things that lived and died up there.
