I took this notebook challenge and used it to dream a little. I looked back over my artists’ working notebooks down through the years. This acted as a small reminder of some of the most wonderful artworks I had been lucky enough to see in many of the big galleries of Europe. I listed the most heart-stopping of the works of art I had seen and thought that it would be fun to gather them all together.
So, I took on the role of curator/gallery architect. I carved down into the pages of my moleskin notebook to make the walls of my imagined gallery. I then made tiny replicas of my favourite art works and placed them in my gallery. Boldly, I included a bronze piece of my own from 1998!
The works are not placed randomly. They are grouped in separate rooms, each peice having a conceptual relationship with the other work/s it shares a room with. What a joy, to add content to such wonderful works of art.
Perhaps some day I will be able to curate this type of Exhibition from Irish or Kildare artworks.
