The artistic practice of Lorraine Walsh draws on aspects of the socio-political found in news media images, current events and observations of the everyday to create drawings, paintings and animations. She uses humour, imagination and metaphor to articulate the possibility of seeing the world differently. The work becomes a reflection on our strategies of resistance against being confined & controlled by the various systems that we all live within.

 

The Notebook

The notebook is a collection of small stories, ideas, drawings, collages and text that have been developed over a number of years by the artist. As a whole the book reflects how we act within and sometimes protest the travel and technological networks of the everyday.
