My notebook is in the form of a sort-of diary or even journal of my journey to have a collection of my poetry published. When the 'YES' came it suddenly dawned on me what I had let myself in for. The notebook records the emotion, the slogging, the editing, the dropping of some of my best poems, the wear and tear of attending launches and readings and who will buy a collection of poetry? I thought I would make my first million. Let me tell you now, there is no money in poetry. There was, and still is, a great sense of achievement in the little slim volume. It is something to pass onto the grandchildren. But I'm broke.
