My work centers around flora and fauna primarily Irish wildlife as I have grown up in the countryside. Although I have a BA in Printmaking, my work practice ranges from drawing , photography and craft such as needle point. These collection of drawing highlight my interest in weight of line to express tonal differences rather than shading and crosshatching. These drawings were part of a larger project for my degree show, these images of birds allowed me to complete 37 hand stitched embroideries of Irish birds. As my work always contains a narrative, these birds were used to create a theatrical set with in Limerick School of Art and Design.
