I was instantly attracted to this project as I loved the idea of having the personal pages of an individuals sketchbooks shared collectively.

My motivation for getting involved was to be creative in a new way. I wanted to enjoy the process of filling my notebook without a definite plan and seeing what would emerge. I named my book, “Be Leaf - A visual notebook” and used it as a place to explore and develop ideas. I treated it as a visual journal and filled it with a mix of drawing, painting, collage and text. Some pages stand alone, and others flow together to create a loose narrative.

I thoroughly enjoyed the process of completing my notebook, and found a sense of camaraderie in knowing that all over the country others were doing the same. I feel immense joy that all these individual notebooks, though created separately are now all united and displayed together.
