My name is Rosemarie Langtry and I love to create art. I have been fascinated by the roads I travel every day, the dip or twist in the roads, up hills, downhill, bends, turns and corners ,bridges, crossroads, potholes and how the seasons can change everything. I guess roads remind me of life and the journey we all are on, not knowing what or who we will encounter on our way or what waits for us around the corner.

So my note book took me on a journey where it began with a map or plan. I started off with speed and enthusiasm but not exactly sure what lay ahead. Sometimes not knowing where I was going or what to do , forced me to stop and take stock. However, only for a while then I would start again with new inspiration, energy, excitement, gathering up speed as the deadline approached.

My note book was also inspired by my surroundings, Ariel views of the world and Google images of my local area. My work is process-based encompassing drawing, mixed medium and sometimes encaustic working with heated wax. An intuitive engagement with materials plays an essential role in the creation of my work while mark making is at the core of my drawing and paintings most of which is made with speed and spontaneity allowing the momentum to guide it. I like to create things of beauty that have meaning to my audience, as well as to myself,even if that meaning is different for each person.

So I hope you enjoy the journey through my notebook as much as I enjoyed creating it.
